Siena is home of “Palio”, a famous horse race that takes place twice a year in “Piazza del Campo”, and sees a strong rivalry among the neighborhoods of the town. Not to miss is also its Gothic style Cathedral (Duomo), and a try of “Cantucci”, local cookies that they dip in “Vinsanto” a typical desert wine of Siena. In the afternoon you can burn off your Lasagna from lunch while exploring the center town of San Gimignano, a jewel from the Medieval times, when each town was a state on its own. You can still see the walls all around the town, 14 towers to celebrate their victories, and artisans that keep their old traditions and are happy to show it to you!
